"In A Lonely Place", which revolves around a serial killer who kidnaps and rapes vulnerable women, forces them to run naked through the woods whilst hunting them down like animals and has been getting away with it for years, because no one cared enough about these women - most of whom are strippers, prostitutes and runaways - to look for them.We later get to see what the train did to their faces, not a pretty sight. At the end of "Falling Angels" the Outlaw Couple jump in front of a tube train onscreen.With no gory or Shadow Discretion Shot, and the injuries he receives are bad enough he needs brain surgery. During "Fraternity" Jack Hodgson is the victim of a hit and run.The DI comes home to his wife only to find Bakir with her.Bekir later shows absolutely no remorse for murdering a member of his own family. The murder is accurately describe by Nikki as " being pummelled by fists" and while the actual death isn't shown his horrific screams of terror are. Worse is the fact he actually goes through with murdering him.Also in the same episode a particularly nasty Turkish gangster named Bekir threatens a man by saying he'll " cut you open, like an animal" if he doesn't get his drugs.From the looks of it was not a quick death. only to discover a man who's been tortured to death. During "Undertone" Jack and a DI open a garage door.The entire plot of "After the Fall", combined with Paranoia Fuel.Naomi Silverlake, a physical embodiment of this trope."Body 21", a story about a train crash.The ending of the episode has a man's back slowly cut open with a knife, and then we see the aftermath of the killer of the week slitting their throat."Long Nights, Short Days" has a lovely Dream Sequence where Sam imagines a body she's been examining that has maggots crawling in it's wounds suddenly opens it's eyes. ![]()
